At Halo Health, your safety is our top priority. Before having a high-dose Vitamin C infusion, we perform a simple blood test to check for G6PD (Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase) deficiency.
What is G6PD?
G6PD is a natural enzyme in your red blood cells. Its job is to help protect these cells from certain types of stress. Most people have enough G6PD to keep their red blood cells healthy.
Why does it matter for Vitamin C infusions?
When given in high doses, Vitamin C can create an extra “oxidative” load in the bloodstream. If you have low G6PD levels, your red blood cells may not cope well with this, which can lead to them breaking down too quickly — a serious condition called haemolytic anaemia.
What does the test involve?
It’s a quick, one-time blood test. If your G6PD level is normal, you can safely proceed with high-dose Vitamin C therapy. If it’s low, we’ll discuss alternative doses or other treatment options that are safe for you.
Our commitment to you
This test is part of our medical screening to ensure every treatment is tailored to your needs and delivered to the highest safety standards.<.span>

I’m usually quite scared of needles, but the vitamin D injection wasn’t painful at all — I barely felt it. The staff were so friendly, patient, and reassuring throughout the whole process. Their customer service was amazing and made me feel completely at ease. Definitely recommend for anyone who’s a bit nervous about injections. I attended the clinic on the open day receiving a complementary IV drip and was so satisfied with the results I booked in a follow up treatment. Today I had an appointment with Mia who welcomed me in, talked me through a consultation and administered a Myers Cocktail IV drip which was painless and comfortable - I look forward to feeling more energetic and will be booking myself in soon again! The place is so aesthetic - I find it incredibly relaxing. Definitely worth my journey from London to receive my treatments.Posted on Vanshika PatelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lovely clinic - thanks to Harris.
